A visitation will be held for Lisa Daleo of Alberta on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Reverend Jennifer Amy-Dressler will lead the prayer service.
Lisa Daleo, daughter of Ronald and Lucille Daleo was born on October 5, 1960. After graduating from Butler High School in Butler, NJ she pursued her goal of completing her education by earning an under graduate degree from William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ, masters and doctorial degrees from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, VA. These degrees led to professorial positions at Mont Clair University, William Paterson University, Manhattan University and the University of Minnesota Morris. It was while she was working in Morris that she met her life partner, Layne Cin. They made their home outside of Alberta.
Lisa loved her garden and her pets. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed entertaining friends with her family recipes for delicious Italian meat balls or lasagna.
Lisa's passion for learning continued throughout her life. She never stopped working on her education. Most recently she was studying to become an RN. Even when she was incredibly busy with her life and studies she found time to do volunteer work and to assume responsibility and care for her elderly mother. Lisa will be remembered as a woman of great capacity to love and care for others. It has been an honor and privilege to have her in our lives. She will remain in our hearts and minds forever.
Lisa suffered fatal injuries in a car train accident on December 11, 2013 at the age of 53.
She is survived by her life partner of 20 years, Layne Cin of Alberta; her mother Lucille Daleo, Wadena; two sisters, Traci Renaldo, of Wayne, NJ and Nancy Daleo of Los Angeles, CA; two nieces, Jessica and Julia Renaldo of Wayne, NJ and many more relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Daleo and her sister, Donna Daleo.
