Lloyd Mohr

Funeral services for Lloyd Mohr of Morris, MN will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris, with celebrant Todd Schneider officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Horton Township.

Lloyd Edward Mohr, son of Robert and Elsie (Schlueter) Mohr, was born May 12, 1929 in Morris, Minnesota. Lloyd spent much of his life on the family farm, where he grew up. Lloyd attended West Central School of Agriculture, graduating in 1947. In 1947, Lloyd took over the family farm and continued to farm until 1991. In 1951, he married Shirley Thurmer and together they had four children. Lloyd continued to live in Morris until 2011, when he moved to the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, where he has continued to live until the time of his death.

Lloyd had many hobbies and interests while in Ag School, he played baseball on the Horton Township team. He also enjoyed taking many fishing trips and going to the "Hunting Shack" at deer hunting time. Later in life he just enjoyed driving around the countryside checking the crops.

Lloyd died on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris. He lived to 87 years.

He is survived by one son: Jim (Sue) Mohr of St. Cloud; three daughters: Sue (Jeff) Bumann of Morris, Sandy (Troy) McCarthy of Sauk Centre and Stacey (Chip) Brown of Wetumpka, AL; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Bob, Ralph, John, Lyle and Walter Mohr and two sisters: Bernice Fluegel and Margaret Siebrecht.
