Lois Krump

January 14, 1937 — January 30, 2023

Memorial services for Lois Krump of Morris, MN will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris, with Father Todd Schneider officiating.  Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Lois Jean (Lee) Krump was born to Oscar and Eva (Olson) Lee on January 14, 1937, in Brainerd, MN.  Of the four children born to the couple, she was the only girl.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and graduated from Brainerd High School in 1955.

Following graduation, Lois moved to Detroit Lakes where she met her future husband named William (Bill) Krump.  The two were married on June 6, 1959 at the Catholic Church in Brainerd and eventually welcomed four daughters:  Kathi, Karin, Judy, and Jane.  In 1961, Lois and Bill moved their family to Hancock, MN where Bill accepted a teaching position at the school.  While Lois loved her days in Hancock, Bill eventually accepted a teaching position at the school in Morris, MN.  They moved their family to Morris in an all-pink house in town – which many thought was appropriate with all the ladies in the home.

While Bill taught school and raised pheasants at Pomme de Terre Pheasant Farm, Lois lovingly took care of her home and children while helping Bill with the birds.  Later in life, Lois spent time working as an accountant for several businesses in town.  Many would joke that she was so good at her job that she was constantly being recruited.

Lois loved traveling with Bill, her girl trips with her daughters, playing bridge with her friends, gardening, volunteering and singing at church, spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids, and golfing – one time even getting a hole-in-one.  She was also a wonderful cook and never strayed from making stroganoff every Christmas and all of her girls’ favorite dishes on each of their birthdays.

In 2020, Lois started experiencing a decline in her health, but with the help of her husband and daughters, she was able to stay in her home until her passing on January 30, 2023, shortly after her 86th birthday.

Lois is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bill Krump of Morris;  daughters:  Kathi Grugel of Morris, Karin (Terry) Johnson of Morris, Dr. Judy (Mike) Doran of Blaine, MN, Jane (Jeff) Roiland of Carroll, IA;  grandchildren:  Kim Grugel, Jeni Grugel, Mitch Grugel, Tyler Johnson, Kelsey (Matt) Pierson, Natalie Beaton (Jeremiah Callahan), Nicole Beaton, Alex Roiland, Jake Roiland, Ally Roiland;  great-grandchildren:  Kinze Johnson, Brooks Pierson, Mason Pierson, Hudson Pierson; and her very special aunt, Mary Olson.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Eva Lee; brothers:  Ronald Lee, Roger Lee, Bumper Lee; and grandchildren:  Baby Joseph Roiland and Katelyn Roiland.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
