Lois Schueller

Lois Schueller died Monday, November 24, 2008 at West Wind Village in Morris. She was 96 years old. She was born January 26, 1912 in Morris, MN, the daughter of Henry and Emily Smith. Lois graduated from Morris High School. November 27, 1934, she married Walter Schueller in Morris.




The couple moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1936. During World War II Lois worked in an airplane factory. In 1945 they bought a farm in Grant County, where they farmed until their retirement in 1975. That year they moved to Donnelly. Lois also worked as a nurse’s aide at the Morris Hospital for many years while living on the farm.




Lois has been a member of St. Charles Catholic Church of Herman and St. Theresia’s Catholic Church of Donnelly. She was active in the Ladies Guild at both of the Churches. One of Lois’s favorite past time activities was fishing, and she generally out fished everyone in the boat.




She is survived by daughter Marge Gerber of Corrales, NM; son Mike (Mimi) Schueller of Wausau, WI; six grandchildren: Sue (Hector) Gerber of Atlanta, GA, Lisa Gerber of Corralas, NM, Robert (Rose) Gerber of East Lyme, CT, Janna (Fred) Hillman of Schofield, WI, Jon (Cara) Schueller of Chippewa Falls, WI. and Sarah Schueller of Wausau, WI; seven great- grandchildren: Alexander and Isabella Gerber of East Lyme, CT, Stella Asmerom of Corrales NM, Molly and Beth McIlquham and Natalie and Tynan Schueller of Chippewa Falls, WI and one brother: Grant Smith of Donnelly.




She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; son-in-law: Robert Gerber; two sisters: Marjorie Smith and Jean Anderson and five brothers: Howard, Dale, Gordon, Kenneth, and Don Smith.
