The memorial service for Loren Melvin Becker, of Hancock, Minnesota will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church at Hancock, with Reverend Gregg Bitter officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at the Summit Cemetery at Morris, Minnesota.
Loren Melvin Becker was born on November 21, 1958 at Ramsey County, Minnesota and was adopted by Melvin and Allowese (Schulz) Becker in January of 1959. He grew up and attended school at Morris, Minnesota. After his schooling, Loren received his CNA certificate and worked for the Divine House in Morris for 12 years. He also worked for several area farmers in the Hancock and Morris area. Loren did custom baling for Doug and Dale Rinkenberger near Hancock. He and his life partner June Reynolds lived near Hancock on a hobby farm, where they raised chickens and cows.
Loren enjoyed chocolate, woodworking, music, the board game Trouble and puzzles; and doing anything to keep busy around the farm. Loren was a collector of novelty lighters. He loved to fish and spend time with his granddaughters. Loren will be remembered for being a caring and giving man; who loved to joke around and pull an occasional prank on those he liked.
Loren died on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at his home near Hancock. He was 53 years old.
He is survived by his life partner, June Reynolds, Hancock; one daughter, Nicole (Aaron) Cain, Willmar; his mother, Allowese Becker, Morris; two granddaughters, McKennah & Emma Cain, Willmar, three sisters, Holly (Brad) Svea, Starbuck, Deloris (Allen) Hagen, Isle and Lillian (Bill) Leckner, Melrose; nephew: Jesse Alama and niece: Jill (Michael) Hodsdon. Loren was preceded in death by his father, Melvin and one sister, Gloria Habisch.
Pallbearers for the funeral will be Dale Rinkenberger and Richard Lubenow. Phyllis Joos will be organist.
