Lorraine Eleanor Awsumb was born on October 10, 1922 in Donnelly, Minnesota, to parents Emil and Laura (Christofferson) Awsumb. Lorraine was baptized and confirmed at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church in Donnelly. On July 5, 1941, she married Manly Anderson, They made their home on a farm in the Morris area and later moved to the Donnelly area, where they farmed until Manly’s death in 1986. Lorraine then moved to Morris, where she has continued to reside until the time of her death.
Lorraine died on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at West Wind Village in Morris, Minnesota, having lived to reach the age of 85 years.
She is survived by her children: Tom (Marianne) Anderson of Graceville and Connie (Rich) Muller of Kent, WA; eight grandchildren: Heidi (Jeff) Rouna, Kelly (Dan) Morales, Tami Anderson (her fiancé: Matt Westerman), Dustin Anderson, Melissa and Jennifer Anderson, Jeff Muller and Renee Muller Potchen; 15 great-grandchildren; sister: Dorothy Brown of Avoca and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Manly; her son: Craig Anderson; her parents and brother: Paul Awsumb.
Pallbearers for the service are: Jeff Rouna, Mark Pew, Dustin Anderson, Dan Morales, Matt Westerman and Don Gieselman. Honorary pallbearers are Lorraine’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rita Lambert will serve as organist for the service with Jere Solvie serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
