Lowell Leuck

June 21, 1921 — June 25, 2009

Lowell Anton Leuck, son of Mathias and Katherine (Arnes) Leuck, was born June 21, 1921 in Woonsocket, South Dakota. At a young age, Lowell’s family moved to the Morris area, where he attended one year of school at the West Central School of Agriculture. For a short time following his schooling, he worked on a farm in the Morris area. On July 15, 1942, Lowell enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Pacific Theatre in World War II. He received an honorable discharge on July 16, 1946. Following his discharge, Lowell returned to the Morris area. On November 29, 1958, he was united in marriage to Darlene Hunt. To this union five children were born. Lowell and his family made their home in Dallas and Kansas City. Lowell retired in 1997 and he and Darlene moved back to Minnesota. They have continued to live in Morris until the time of his death.





Lowell was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Morris, MN. He enjoyed woodworking, flowers, gardening, sport activities and tinkering with everything. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends.




Lowell died on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at West Wind Village in Morris, MN, having lived to reach the age of 88 years.




He is survived by his wife: Darlene Leuck of Morris; five children: Allyn (Raina) Leuck of Independence, MO, Mary Ireland of Shawnee, KS, Darla (Rick) Kelsey of Overland Park, KS, Sue (Bob) Oswald of Overland Park, KS and Dale Leuck of Overland, KS; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister: Irene Smith of Magnolia, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Raymond Leuck and Eugene Leuck.




Pallbearers for the service are: Dale Leuck, Allyn Leuck, Rick Kelsey, Bob Oswald, Don Ascheman and Frank Kill. Deb Mahoney will serve as pianist for the service with Holly Giese serving as song leader. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
