Lucille Blomgren

July 30, 1909 — September 4, 2005

Lucille Blomgren, 96, formerly of Morris, died Sunday, September 4, 2005 at the home of Rita and Don Mays, Richmond, KY, (her daughter and husband). She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; an infant daughter, Deloris; three brothers and three sisters.



Lucille was born in Ihlen, MN July 30, 1909 to Frank and Ida Price. On March 12, 1931, she married Carl Louis Blomgren. The couple farmed in the Pipestone area for several years before moving to Morris in 1940. They farmed on several farm sites before settling north of Alberta in 1947. When they retired in 1977, they began spending their winters in Mesa, AZ. In 1989 they sold the farm and moved to their summer residence in Webster, WI, continuing to winter in Mesa. After Carl passed away in 1996, Lucille continued to reside in Webster and Mesa until 2003 when she moved permanently to her daughter's home in Kentucky.



Lucille was an avid gardener and excellent cook, sharing the abundance of her interests with family and friends. Her crocheting talents were commendable and apparent in the numerous afghans she crocheted for loved ones.



Lucille Blomgren is survived by five children: Lyle and his wife, Judy, of Fayetteville, AR; Lois Sanchez of Beaumont, CA; Rita Mays and her husband Don, of Richmond, KY; David and his wife, Irene, of San Ramon, CA; and Bette and her husband, Gene of Seneca, SC. There are 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.



The Reverend Donald Mays will officiate at the Funeral and the Pedersen Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
