The funeral for Mable G. Realdsen, of Morris, Minnesota will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Donnelly, with Reverend Judy Gelinske officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Pleasant Valley Lutheran Cemetery near Kidder, South Dakota.
Mable G. Storbakken, daughter of Alf and Rose (Edson) Storbakken was born on November 28, 1920 in Veblen, South Dakota, where she grew up and attended school. After graduating from high school, Mable worked at the Veblen Post Office. She was united in marriage to Richard Charles Realdsen on October 13, 1943 in Britton, South Dakota. For the next fourteen years, the couple lived in the Britton area, where they farmed in North and South Dakota. In 1957, they moved to Donnelly, Minnesota, where Richard managed the GTA grain elevator and Mable served as the bookkeeper. The couple retired from the elevator in 1978 and continued to live in Donnelly. Richard died on February 11, 1980. Mable moved to the West Central Homes in Morris, Minnesota in December of 2007.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Donnelly, where she was active with WELCA and the church choir. Mable also was a member of the birthday club. She enjoyed embroidery, gardening, baking, cooking, and outings with friends.
Mable died on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Courage Cottage in Morris. She was 92 years old.
She is survived by one son, Richard (Beth) Realdsen, Paynesville, MN; one daughter, Carol (John) Satrang, Chandler, AZ; one daughter-in-law, Jane Realdsen, Fountain Hills, AZ; two sisters, Ruth Nelson, Veblen, SD and Lillian (Erling) Berger, Alexandria, MN; five grandchildren, Sara (Bob) Lein, Woodbury, MN, Lori (Scott) Schlecht, Sartell, MN, Tricia (Aaron) Foster, Glendale, AZ, Anna (Ben) Realdsen, Fountain Hills, AZ and Traci (Matt) Brazel, Peoria, AZ; and twelve great-grandchildren. Mable was preceded in death by her husband, son, Roger, her parents, and four brothers, Roy Storbakken, Carl Storbakken, Alvin Storbakken and Leo Storbakken.
