Malinda Bertha Stahn, daughter of Edward and Frieda (Pfeil) Stahn, was born February 22, 1917 in rural Redwood County, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended country school. Peg was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Springfield, Minnesota. She continued her education in practical nurses training in Marshall, MN and later obtained her MN Realtor's License. Peg worked as a nurse in various hospitals, clinics and private duty positions. On August 31, 1941, she was united in marriage with Hans B. Meyer at St. John's Lutheran Church. Following their marriage, the couple farmed for a brief time in Redwood County. Then in 1944, they moved to Stevens County, where they continued to farm in the Chokio area until 1969 when they moved to Morris.

Throughout her life, Peg had been actively involved in the church community where ever she and Hans resided. She was a current member of First Lutheran Church in Morris. She loved square dancing with the Morris B-Squares, enjoyed playing cards (especially bridge), crossword puzzles, reading, sewing, crocheting, and other creative activities. Peg valued education and was extremely proud of her children's and grandchildren's academic accomplishments. For 39 years she and Hans had a cabin on Lake Minnewaska in Glenwood and they spent many winters in Mesa, AZ. She loved hosting family gatherings and spending time visiting with family and friends.
