Manda Hippe

April 2, 1920 — April 18, 2007

Manda Delores Aaberg, daughter of Nels and Emma (Teigen) Aaberg, was born April 2, 1920 in Langhei Township in Pope County, Minnesota. Manda grew up and attended school in Starbuck. She graduated in 1938 from Starbuck High School. Following her schooling, she worked as a waitress in Starbuck and Glenwood. On September 2, 1945, she was united in marriage to Elmer Dallman. The couple was only married for a few years, when Elmer died from a massive heart attack. On May 5, 1951, she was united in marriage to Tilman Hippe in Wheaton, Minnesota. To this union, one set of twins was born, Harold and Helen. Manda and Tilman lived and worked on their farm for many years. Tilman died on April 21, 1987. Manda remained in Starbuck until a few years ago, when she moved to Glenwood, where she has resided since that time.





Manda was an active member of East Zion Lutheran Church in Starbuck, where her many activies included teaching Sunday school and participating in bible study, mission group, Ladies Aide and quilting.





Manda died on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, Minnesota, having lived to reach the age of 87 years.





She is survived by one son: Harold Hippe of Starbuck; one daughter: Helen (Jerry) Hoy of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren: Andrew Hippe of Tucson, AZ, Robyn (Brian) Wallace of Denver, CO, Nathan Hippe of Starbuck and Todd (Tammi) Hoy of Denver, CO two great-grandchildren: Jack Hoy and Hailey Marczak and two sisters: Anjie Hagen of Starbuck and Marion Greseth of Granite Falls. She was preceded in death by her two husbands: her parents and siblings: Noel Aaberg, Bobbi Ignatowicz, Alice Norby, Fred Aaberg, Margaret Berray, Florence Burman and Christ Aaberg.





Pallbearers for the service are: Andrew Hippe, Nathan Hippe, Jerry Hoy, Harold Hippe, Todd Hoy and Marv O'Donnell. Monica Gosseling will serve as organist for the service with Rev. Becky Worner serving as soloist. Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck is in charge of the arrangements.
