Margaret Hazel Evangeline Johnson, daughter of Bernard and Mabel (Hull) Johnson, was born October 10, 1915 in Victor, South Dakota. She attended country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Rosholt High School in 1934. Following her schooling, she worked as a housekeeper in various homes in the area. In 1938, she was united in marriage to Harold Lokken of Hamlet, North Dakota. The couple lived in New Effington, SD and Florence SD, before moving to Cyrus in 1944. Margaret continued to live in Cyrus until 2003, when she moved to the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.
Margaret was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus, where she was involved with the church bazaars and Do Days. She was also a member of the Cyrus Senior Citizens Group. While living at the Minnewaska Home, Margaret enjoyed visiting with her friends each day.
Margaret died on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, having lived to reach the age of 91 years.
She is survived by her children: Carol (Arthur) Tranby of Green Valley, AZ, Duane (Diane) Lokken of Alexandria, Lois (Fred) MacGregor of Grand Forks, ND and Dennis (Patty) Lokken of Solway; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and one sister: Bernice Lokken.
Pallbearers for the service are Margaret?s grandchildren: Todd Lokken, Debra Kittridge, Stephanie Barthel, Scott Tranby, Bruce Tranby, John Tranby, Terese Rupprecht, Josh Lokken, Kate Lokken, Amy Hoffmann and Laura Hillebrand. Diane Hanse will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
