Margaret Simonson

Funeral services for Margaret Simonson, 64, of Morris, MN will be held Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Herman. Reverends Carl Berner and Robert Jarvis will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery.

Grace "Margaret" Simonson, daughter of Raymond and Marjorie (Wharton) Wheeler, was born August 31, 1947 in Hampton, Iowa. Margaret spent the first 10 years of her life in Dows, Iowa, where she was baptized at Morgan Methodist Church. In 1957, Margaret and her family moved to a farm outside of Morris. She graduated from Morris High School in 1965. Margaret was united in marriage to Wallace Hadler on August 20, 1965. Wallace passed away on December 3, 1977. On December 13, 1980, Margaret was united in marriage to George Anderson. They resided in Morris. Margaret was united in marriage to Neil Simonson on April 28, 2003. The couple spent time traveling together. Margaret loved her family dearly and really enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Margaret died Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the Courage Cottage in Morris. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Neil Simonson, of Morris; her mother, Marjorie Wheeler, of Morris; a brother, Roger (Jodi) Wheeler, of Detroit Lakes; a sister, Mary (Anthony) Valese, of Sioux Falls, SD; five children, Christine (Bill) Miller, of Bismarck, ND, Bryan (Cheri) Hadler, of Yelm, WA, Carrie Hadler (Kevin West), of San Francisco, CA, Kadee Anderson, of Morris, and Megan (Joel) Baranko, of West Fargo, ND; two stepchildren, Charley Simonson, of Minnetonka, and Theodore Simonson, of Minneapolis; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kathleen Wheeler of Apple Valley and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her first husband, Wallace Hadler; her father, Raymond Wheeler; and a brother, Douglas Wheeler.

Pallbearers for the service are: Bill Miller, Kevin West, Joel Baranko, Paul Valese, Charley Simonson and Ted Simonson. Honorary Pallbearers are: Mark Valese, John Valese, Colin Norris, Cameron Norris, Jonathan Hunter, Teagan Hadler and Jaden Hadler. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials are preferred to the Courage Cottage or the Stevens Community Humane Society.
