Memorial services for Marilyn Grammentz of Morris, MN will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Pastor Karen Schmidt-Dill will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Tuesday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.

Marilyn Charlotte Benson, daughter of Virgil and Agnes (Bergerson) Benson, was born October 21, 1938 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a young girl she moved to Hancock where she grew up and attended school and was a drum majorette. She was united in marriage to David Steen in 1955 in Hancock. To this union two children Victoria and Michael were born. The couple continued to live in Hancock to raise their children. On January 18, 1964 Marilyn married Marvin Grammentz in Glenwood, Minnesota. To this union one child, Marlyn was born. Shortly after they were married, the couple moved to Winsted for 23 years. After Marvin retired, the couple relocated to Cleveland, Tennessee for three years before settling once again in the Morris area in 1995. Marvin died February 12, 2013. Marilyn continued to live in Morris until the time of her death.

Marilyn was a member of First Congregational Church in Hancock and the Morris VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to flea markets, traveling, gardening, canning, and being outdoors. She will be remembered as a woman who enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends.

Marilyn died on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Courage Cottage in Morris, Minnesota. She lived to reach the age of 75 years.

She is survived by her two sons: Michael Steen and Marlyn "Chip" Grammentz both of Sauk Rapids; one daughter: Victoria Vogel of Cleveland, TN; two brothers: Kenny (Wanda) Benson of Hancock and Allan (Susan) Benson of Hancock; one sister: Sylvia (Gary) Eckel of Hancock; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Marvin Grammentz; granddaughter: Stacie Steen; and two brothers: Curtis and Wayne Benson.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
