Funeral Services for Marion Anderson will be private family services. Burial will be held at Appleton Cemetery in Appleton, MN.

While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to accommodate gatherings of up to 250 people. The use of face masks by attendees is required, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean. For those who prefer or require continued precautions, webcasting and/or livestreaming is available in most situations.

Marion Carol Anderson was born in Stevens County Scott Township on the Anderson Family Farm on March 24, 1937 to Edwin and Mabel (Kohlman) Anderson. At the age of seven she moved to Appleton and attended public school, graduating from Appleton High School in 1956. After high school and throughout her life she worked various jobs. Marion lived in Minneapolis for 40 years before moving to Morris in 1999 to retire. She had been living at West Wind Village since March 2020.

She was a very independent woman and her dog, Pepper, was her life. Besides enjoying time with Pepper, she also enjoyed all kinds of needle work and coloring. She was very crafty. She also enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, especially old 60’s Country Western music, and reading. One of her favorite books and movies was “Gone with the Wind”.

Marion died peacefully on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the West Wind Village in Morris.  She was 83 years old.

She is survived by her sisters: Thelma Wilson of Alexandria and Elnor (Lawrence) Benkowski of Ortonville; sister-in-law Yvonne (Dennis) Munsterman of Appleton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Mabel Anderson; sister Delores Anderson; brother Harvey Anderson; niece Kristen Benkowski; and brother-in-law Edward Wilson.
