Memorial services for Marion Sax of Hancock, Minnesota will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Hancock. Reverend Julius Miller will be officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.
Marion Evelyn Domek, daughter of John and Olive (Benson) Domek was born February 28, 1924 in Glenwood, MN. She was baptized May 18, 1924 at St. Malachy in Clontarf, MN. At a young age, her family moved to the Hancock area, where she grew up on a farm with her three brothers and seven sisters and attended country school. She graduated from Hancock High School with the class of 1943. Marion was united in marriage to Robert Sax in July of 1980. Together they owned and operated Sax Café and the former E&M Café in Hancock for many years. She loved the restaurant business and often reminisced of all the challenging years.
Marion loved her Hancock community, church, and church family. She forever cherished her family and friends. She was an active member of Our Redeemers Lutheran Church in Hancock.
Marion died Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Benson, MN having lived to reach the age of 90 years.
She is survived by her son: Dick (Carol) Nieland of Fargo, ND; one grandson: Lee (Katie) Nieland of Fargo, ND and two great-grandchildren: Taia and Jaxson. She was preceded in death by her father and mother and all of her siblings.
