Mark Edward Underwood, son of Kenneth and Elizabeth (Husmann) Bontjes, was born November 11, 1972 in Rockford, Illinois where he grew up and attended school.  He was united in marriage to Nicole Delaney on February 14, 1998 in Machesney Park, Illinois.  The couple made their home in Morris where Mark worked at the Divine House.

Mark enjoyed gaming, computers, his dog and spending time with his family.

Mark passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at his home in Morris. He was 47 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Nicole; his children: Courtney (Chris) Wait of Morris, Micheal (Shawnell) Houston of Raleigh, NC, Christeena (Chris) Bontjes of Morris, Jennifer Todd of Anderson, MO, Wesley Houston of Starbuck, Robert (Clare) Underwood of Morris, Ashlie (Jarrid) Care of Morris and Nataja Underwood of Morris; his mother: Elizabeth Husmann of Morris; three brothers: Christopher (Christeena) Bontjes of Morris, Brandon (Heather) Bontjes of Fergus Falls and William Husmann of Morris; Mark has a very special niece, Angel Oglesby from WI, two nieces: Isabelle and Madelyn; one nephew: Xander Bontjes; he has many adopted children, 24 grandchildren, and his companion pet LayDee, his seven month old dog.  He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Bontjes, his brother, Daniel Bontjes and his grandmothers.
