Funeral services for Mary "Marge" Beyer of Morris will be held Monday, November 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1 to 4:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. A private burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Morris.

Mary "Marge" Beyer, daughter of Henry and Rose (Bach) Ascheman was born on December 3, 1934 in Morris MN. She graduated from Appleton High School in 1952. She received her elementary education training for rural teaching in 1958. She was employed as a country school teacher until she married the love of her life Merlin Alvin Beyer on March 2nd 1957. After Merlin completed Barber School in St. Paul, they lived in Montevideo and Benson before settling in Morris. The couple also began a joint venture as restaurant owners/operators: Mar-Merl's Recreational Center in Morris; the Del Monico Cafe in Morris; Trailways Cafe (later named the Holiday Cafe) in Morris; and the Del Monico Cafe in Benson. Marge also worked as an independent sales representative for Shaklee Products. Marge was very committed to her family, church and community. She was a woman of service to all she met. She had the gift of hospitality.

Marge died on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Minnesota Masonic Home in Bloomington, MN, having lived to reach the age of 78 years.

She is survived by four sons: Tom (Stacy) Beyer of Willmar, Ed (Carol) Beyer of Morris, Joel (Jamie) Beyer of Morris, and Jerry Beyer of San Antonio, TX; four daughters: Julie (Mark) Grimme of Bloomington, Jan Jallo of Morris, Beth Beyer of San Antonio, TX, and Bonnie Beyer of Eden Prairie; seventeen grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; seven siblings: Melvin (Margo) Ascheman of Benson, Agnes (Franklin) Miller of Morris, Carol (Virgil) Mesenbrink of Bloomington, Rita (Don) Johnson of Perham, Ronald (Donna) Ascheman of Danvers, Bernice (Dave) Wente of Morris and Robert (Diane) Ascheman of Danvers; two brothers-in-law: Lloyd (Cindy) Beyer and Norman (Diane) Beyer both of Hancock; one sister-in-law: Marian (Bill) Melton of Charlotte, NC and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers: Richard, Harold and Roy; her sisters: Rose Ann and an infant girl; her mother and father-in-law: Melda and Alvin Beyer; sister-in-law, Phyllis; and her son-in-law, Joel Jallo.

Pallbearers for the service are Marge's grandsons: Adam Beyer, David Hill, Jacob Beyer, Andrew Jallo, Jonathon Jallo, Ryan Beyer, Matthew Beyer, McKinley Beyer, and step grandson: Mitch Grimme. Honorary pallbearers are Marge's granddaughters: Renee Hill, Kate (Beyer) Paris, Angie Jallo, Mary Hill, Sara Beyer, Sydney Beyer and step granddaughter's: Hannah (Gutpill) Hanson and Jennifer (Guptill) Tone. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Calvary Cemetery in Morris or the American Diabetes Association. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
