The funeral for Mary Lou Boon, of Morris, Minnesota will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Celebrant for the service will be Father Todd Schneider. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary at 4:45 p.m. and prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery, Morris.
Mary Lou Satzer, daughter of John and Mary (Kill) Satzer was born on July 13, 1931 in Morris, Minnesota. She grew up in Morris, where she attended St. Mary's School; graduating from St. Mary's High School in 1949. Mary Lou was united in marriage to Raymond Boon on October 24, 1953 in Morris. The couple made their home in Morris where Mary Lou worked at Bob DeWall Agency and part-time as a clerk of court at the Stevens County Courthouse; before staying home to raise their two daughters, Kim and Amy. Raymond died on March 17, 1992. Mary Lou continued to live in Morris before moving into Getty Street Assisted Living in Sauk Centre, Minnesota in August of 2011.
She was a very active member of the Assumption Catholic Church. Mary Lou loved to cook and bake; some of her favorites were her peach pie and homemade soups. She always enjoyed her family Sunday dinners at her home and visits from family and friends. Mary Lou will be remembered for being a very organized and detailed lady, who cared for others.
Mary Lou died on Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Getty Street Assisted Living in Sauk Centre. She had just celebrated a wonderful 84th birthday with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Kroshus, Sauk Centre, MN and Amy (Glenn) Hennen, Bowlus, MN; three grandchildren Jessica (Duane) Anderson, Coon Rapids, MN, Aaron Kroshus, Melrose, MN and Alex Hennen, Bowlus, MN and three great-grandchildren, Carter Larson and Dylan and Nicky Anderson. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, parents, John and Mary and one brother, William.
