The funeral mass for Mary Faith, of Chokio, Minnesota will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chokio. Celebrant for the funeral will be Father John Paul Knopik. Visitation will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chokio on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Chokio.
Mary Vera Faith, daughter of John and Genevieve (Nolen) Faith was born on February 20, 1956 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. Shortly after her birth, she had severe health complications and the family was told she only had a short time to live. After months of doctoring and spending time at the University Of Minnesota Hospital in St. Paul; Mary's parents decided to bring her home to be loved and cared for. Through her school years, Mary also fought battles with her health. She graduated from Chokio-Alberta High School in 1974. She continued to live and work in Chokio her entire life. Mary went through a lot of pain in her life; however, with the help of family and the community of Chokio, she lived way past her expectations!
She was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she ushered. Mary was famous for her delicious cookies for every occasion. She enjoyed babysitting for family and friends and keeping everyone informed. She loved helping others by running errands, making reminder calls and caring for the homebound. She spent a lot of time promoting the community she loved.
Mary would have never lived as long as she did without the nurture and love of family and friends.
On Sunday morning, November 27, 2016 at her home in Chokio, Mary said "I better let you go." She was 60 years old.
Mary is survived by her brothers and sisters: John (Lynda) Faith, International Falls, MN, Anne Marie (Jim) Schwankl, Siler City, NC, Stephen Faith, Baltic, SD, Janet (Ron) Bowman, Onemo, VA, Tony (Connie) Faith, Alexandria, MN, Andy (Dru Ann) Faith, St. Cloud, MN, Jerome Faith, Vaughn, MT, Joe (Helen) Faith, Dillingham, AK, and Gerard (Sharon) Faith, Audubon, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Peter and Daniel.
