Mary Jane Store

A private graveside service for Mary J. Store of Glenwood, MN, will be held at Reno Mission Cemetery, rural Lowry, MN.

Mary Jane (Brainard) Store, was born on October 16, 1953, in Starbuck, Minnesota the daughter of Carlton and Helen Mary (Wollan) Brainard.

She grew up in Glenwood and graduated from Glenwood High School in 1972. She continued her education at the University of Minnesota in Morris and later on attended St. Cloud State University, studying Physical Therapy.

Mary worked at a group home in St. Joseph, for REM in St. Paul and at a nursing home in Alexandria as an assistant activities director. Her declining health forced her into an early retirement.

She was very artistic and crafty, loved photography and science and enjoyed expressing one of her main talents, humor.

Mary died Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood. She was 71 years old.

Survivors include her son, Noah Rude; sister, Susan Brainard; close friend, Nancy Hofstad and numerous relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton and Helen; husband, Robert Store and brothers, David Brainard and Jack Brainard.
