Michael Allen Carlson, son of Walter and Gloria (Bushnell) Carlson, was born October 18, 1961 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he grew up and received his schooling, graduating from Minneapolis South High School. Mike then moved to Elbow Lake, where he worked at Park Manufacturing for a short time. He then bought a home in Herman and began working at Leis Motors in Elbow Lake. After Leis Motors closed, Mike worked with a friend at "The Car Corner" in the same location as Leis Motors. For the past several years, Mike has worked at Morris Bearing in Morris, where he was employed at the time of his death.
Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing his entire life, especially deer hunting. He also enjoyed cheering on the Minnesota Twins and riding his beloved motorcycle, which is how he spent most of his free time. For several years, he also drove an Eduro Car in the Grant County Fair.
Mike's friends were a big part of this life, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his close friend, Darren Koser and his fiancé, Russanh. He also loved his fishing outings with buddy, Steve Nelson. He was a great guy and a friend to many, who was always more concerned in helping others before himself.
Mike died unexpectedly on Monday, August 6, 2012 in Herman, Minnesota, as he was leaving for what he lived to do, ride his motorcycle on a beautiful day. Mike you will be greatly missed as you left us all too early.
Mike is survived by one brother, Dwayne (Barb) Carlson of Shakopee; one sister, Katherine Carlson of Minneapolis; two nephews, Troy Carlson of Minneapolis and Keith Carlson of Orlando, FL and his extended family and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Carlson.
