Mike Hoffman

Michael LaVerne Hoffman, son of David and Linda (Minder) Hoffman, was born June 14, 1973 in St. Cloud , Minnesota . Mike grew up in Morris, where he was baptized on August 5, 1973 and confirmed on November 12, 1989 at Assumption Catholic Church. He began his schooling at St. Mary’s School before attending Morris Area High School , graduating in 1992. While growing up, Mike was active in Boys Scouts, he loved to ride his bike to the dam and go fishing and he also played football for MAHS. Following his schooling, he worked various jobs in the area, most recently working at the Water’s Edge in Starbuck, and he was currently employed at Prairie Lakes Coop, where he had worked for the past three years.

Mike enjoyed NASCAR Racing, driving in demolition derbies and he loved spending time at the lake. Above all, he loved doing things that involved being with his kids. He was especially looking forward to his upcoming marriage to Jennifer Jergenson, which was scheduled for September 20, 2008.

Mike died on Monday, July 28, 2008 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He had lived to reach the age of 35 years.

He is survived by his parents: David & Linda Hoffman of Morris; his fiancé: Jennifer Jergenson of Starbuck; five children: Blake, Austin, Koulten, Morgan and Madison, all of Starbuck; one brother: Eric (Naomi) Hoffman of Morris; three sisters: Lori (Chad) Amborn of Lakeville, Jean (Dave) Rohloff of Morris and Nancy (Joseph) VonHaden of Sioux Falls, SD and nine nieces and nephews: Alexander, Zachary, Jared, Joshua, Noah, Olivia, Grace, David & Ivan. He was preceded in death by one nephew: Ian Amborn and his grandparents: Gertrude and Leonard Hoffman and Jean and Bert Minder.
