The funeral for Mildred V. Beebe, of Annandale, Minnesota, formerly of Morris, Minnesota will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Federated Church in Morris, with Reverend William Warnock officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the church from 2 to 3 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date at the Summit Cemetery, Morris.
Mildred V. Barrie, daughter of Arthur and Loretta (Boudreau) Barrie was born on July 28, 1924 in Murray Township near Currie, Minnesota. She attended school in Currie until the 7th grade, when her family moved to Morris, Minnesota. She graduated from Morris High School in 1943 and began working at local restaurants and caring for local farmer's children. Mildred was united in marriage to Marshall Beebe on October 22, 1945 in Morris. The couple made their home in Morris, where Mildred stayed home and cared for their family. In 1949, Marshall began working for the University of Minnesota Agricultural Experimental Station, in Morris. After retiring in 1986, Mildred and Marshall began wintering in Texas. They continued to live in Minnesota in the summer months and Texas in the winter months before making Mission, Texas their home in 2011. Mildred and Marshall moved to Annandale, Minnesota in March of 2014, to be closer to their daughter Bonnie.
Mildred was a member of the Federated Church in Morris. She enjoyed going to flea markets, walking the beach and collecting shells, sewing, and making pot holders and towels. She also was known for her potato salad. Mildred will be dearly missed by her loving family.
Mildred died on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at her home in Annandale, having reached the age of 89 years.
She is survived by her husband, Marshall, Annandale; one daughter, Bonnie (Darrell) Hutson, South Haven; two daughters-in-law, Pat Beebe, Farmington and Dolly Beebe, Cannon Falls; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren on the way. Mildred was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Dale, her parents, one brother, Lionel Barrie and two sisters, Geraldine Winter and LaVonne Ring.
