Mildred Wulf, daughter of Albert and Maria (Knobloch) Wulf was born on April 16, 1924 on the family farm near Lester, Iowa. She attended country school through the 8th grade. After her schooling, Mildred spent most of her time working on the family farm. She was united in marriage to Virgil Sauder on December 11, 1946; to this union nine children were born. The couple made their home near Hancock, Minnesota, where they farmed. Mildred's life was spent taking care of her family, gardening, quilting and sharing with those around her. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren visits were a bright spot to her day. The couple moved into Morris in 1988, where they have continued to live.
Because of Mildred's strong faith in the Lord, she was able to find grace and began repenting on February 17, 2014. She enjoyed the many visitors and those that came to sing to her, especially after not being able to get out and about.
Mildred died peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the Courage Cottage in Morris. She was 90 years old.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil, Morris; six daughters, Carolyn (Jim) Reuter, Morris, Delores Sauder, Eden Prairie, Sharon (Arnie) Koehl, Charlotte (Aldean) Luthi, Maxine Koehl, Beverly (Stanley) Schaefer, all of Hancock; three sons, George (Georgann), Morris, Verle (Christa), Hancock and Gary (Claire), Montgomery, TX; one sister, Leah Doorneweerd, Hills, MN; one brother-in-law, Raymond Luthi, Pittsburg, KS; one sister-in-law, Alice Wulf, Lester, IA; thirty-five grandchildren and fifty-six great-grandchildren.
