Milo Schultz

Funeral services for Milo Schultz of Starbuck, MN will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck. Reverend Paul Johnson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck and for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in Fron Lutheran Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Starbuck V.F.W.

Milo Charles Schultz, son of Helmuth and Augusta (Stolp) Schultz was born December 4, 1922 in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. He was the youngest of six children. Milo attended public and parochial school in Lester Prairie and served in the United States Army during WWII from 1943-1945. He spent time in the South Pacific in the Solomon Islands, Bougainville and the Island of Leyte. After his honorable discharge, Milo did cement work with his father in Lester Prairie and worked at the newspaper as a pressman. On July 14, 1951, he was united in marriage to Ruth Evert. In 1960, the family moved to Starbuck, where Milo was employed at the Starbuck Times as a pressman and reporter until 1974. Following his retirement, he started mowing lawns and delivering the local Shopper for the next 15 years. Milo was a member of Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck.

Milo died on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, MN, having lived to reach the age of 90 years.

He is survived by his wife: Ruth Schultz of Starbuck; three children: Norma Edwards of Rohnert Park, CA, Linda (Steve) Yaddof of Platteville, WI and Wesley (Kara Grote) Schultz of Alexandria; four grandchildren: Conrad (Nicole) Yaddof of Manassas, VA, Kinsey Yaddof of Middleton, WI, Jason (Rose) Schultz of Richmond Heights, MO and Jennifer Schultz (Cory) Hodgson of Alexandria; one great-granddaughter: Peyton Olivia Hodgson of Alexandria. Milo was preceded in death by his parents: siblings and in-laws: Sylvia (John) Landstrom, Melva (Bill) Landstrom, Orville (Lillian) Schultz, Lorna (Oscar) Will and Albin Schultz.
Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck is in charge of the arrangements.
