There will be a private family burial for Nancy Plecas of Alexandria, formerly of Morris, Minnesota in the Spring of 2024. Inurnment will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.
Nancy was born on March 8, 1931 to Harold and Alice (Halling) Eidsvold. She was the oldest of four children. Nancy grew up in Morris and was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Morris. She graduated from Morris High School in 1949. She went on to college at St. Olaf in Northfield, MN and graduated in 1953. Following her graduation she taught school in Arizona, Illinois and Michigan. In 1999, she moved to her lake home in Alexandria, MN.
Nancy enjoyed teaching figure skating at St. Olaf as well as earning a Life Masters in Duplicate Bridge from the American Contract Bridge League. She also enjoyed many summer camping trips in the U.S. as well as traveling to over a dozen foreign countries.
Nancy was an independent and intelligent person.
Nancy passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Nelson Gables Assisted Living in Alexandria. She was 92 years old.
She is survived by her sisters: Sylvia Fougeron of Brevard, NC and Mary Alice Bilotta of Pawleys Island, SC; her brother: Tom Eidsvold of Alexandria as well as her nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Henry and Amanda Eidsvold and Charles and Anna Halling and her parents: Harold and Alice Eidsvold.
Nancy’s family would like to thank Nelson Gables of Knute Nelson and Douglas County Hospice care givers for their excellent care for Nancy.
