Nancy C. Neal

**Nancy's family is requesting that no flowers be sent to the funeral service (if one wishes to order flowers, give them to someone alive to enjoy them!), instead, please direct donations to the Stevens County DAC or a charity of your choice.  

Funeral services for Nancy Neal, of Morris, Minnesota, will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the Federated Church in Morris.  Reverend Matthew Orendorff will be officiating the service.  Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris.  

Nancy Carol Neal, daughter of Clyde and Carol (Wartman) Neal, was born February 4, 1956, in Morris, where she grew up and was baptized at Federated Church on September 11, 1960. Nancy attended and graduated from Morris High School in 1977. During her schooling, she worked at the Stevens County DAC, doing various tasks, such as washing cars and delivering newspapers in the Morris area. She continued her work at the DAC until the time of her passing. Nancy loved going to the DAC and prided herself on the work she did. She lived in various homes in Morris over the years, most recently at Tigerwood Home.

Nancy was a faithful member of Federated Church in Morris and would always be the first one to point out someone’s birthday and would then sing to them! For many years, she was involved in the Special Olympics, participating in bowling, track & field, walking and tennis ball throwing. One particular year, Nancy carried the torch at the opening ceremony prior to the regional event. Nancy had her daily routine and schedule, which involved taking care of her “kids,” Dolly and Suzie, and calling family and friends. A few pet names she had for people was “nut,” “cuckoo bird,” “clown,” and “buddy.” She was determined, funny, a go-getter, a spitfire and a hard worker. Nancy loved the MN Twins and was not happy when she could not find them on the tv or when they lost. She enjoyed reading the local newspaper and listening to the local radio station.  A few of her favorite things were: Chicken in a Biscuit, V-8, Diet Dr. Pepper and small bottles of Aquafina water.

Nancy died on Thursday, January 5, 2024, at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, MN; she was 67 years old.

She is survived by her brother, Jim (Colleen) Neal of Alberta; nephews: Eric Neal of Pierre, SD, J. B. Neal of Blaine, and Jacob (Leah) Neal of Waconia; niece: Heather Neal of Kansas City, MO; step-nephew: David (Tricia Stewart) Guse of Elbow Lake and several cousins, and several great, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
