Neil William Kaelin

Memorial services for Neil Kaelin of Zimmerman, Minnesota will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Starbuck, with Reverend Paul Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Neil William Kaelin, son of Charles and Shirley (Brate) Kaelin, was born October 16, 1963 in Springfield Township in Ohio, where he grew up. He began his schooling at Springdale Elementary, before attending Princeton High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Following his graduation, he continued his education at Cincinnati Technical School.  Neil was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Hamilton, Ohio. On August 20, 1994, he was united in marriage to Sheila Johnshoy at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Starbuck. The couple made their home in Zimmerman, MN, where Neil worked for Cargill as a Maintenance Technician.

Neil enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, canning and cooking. He especially loved spending time with his daughter and grandkids.

Neil died on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN; he was 59 years old.

He is survived by his wife: Sheila Kaelin of Zimmerman; one daughter: Lisa (Doug) Drozdowicz of Madison, WI; three grandchildren; one brother: Gary (Robin) Kaelin of Hamilton, OH; four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law and two nephews and five nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Shirley Kaelin.
