Netabelle Mamie Vance, daughter of Charles and Mamie (Ackerman) Vance, was born October 18, 1918 in Williston, North Dakota, where she grew up and attended and graduated from Williston High School. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Erickson on September 22, 1940. The couple lived in Park River, North Dakota and Watford City, North Dakota, before moving to Chokio, Minnesota in 1942. To this union two children were born, Donald and Carol. Netabelle enjoyed camping, fishing and being with family. Her hobbies included quilting, craft kits and doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles.
Netabelle died on Monday, October 27, 2008 at West Wind Village in Morris, MN, having lived to reach the age of 90 years.
She is survived by one son: Donald and Lois Erickson of Bloomington and their children: Carmen and husband, Steve Meyer of Lakeville and their children, Lorna, Kyle and Ellie Meyer; Chad and Amy Erickson of Lakeville and their daughter, Emersyn; one daughter: Carol and Dennis “Bud” Marlow of Chokio and their children; Becky Vold and her friend, Robert Steffans and her children, Liz and Alex Vold; Sara and husband, Kurt Staples of Chokio and their children: Clay, Seth and Leah and Matt Marlow of Chokio and his daughter: Chloe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; her parents and three brothers: Richard, Sumner and Roy Vance.
Serving as pallbearers for the service are Netabelle’s grandchildren: Carmen Meyer, Chad Erickson, Becky Vold, Sara Staples and Matt Marlow. Julene Amborn will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
