Funeral services for Nicole Wittern of Donnelly will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church, rural Donnelly. Reverend Judy Gelinske will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Kongsvinger Lutheran Cemetery, rural Donnelly.
Nicole Renee Bergstrom, daughter of Charles and Becky (Strand) Bergstrom, was born May 23, 1977 in Morris, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church and also attended Sunday school. Nikki began her schooling in Morris, graduating from Morris High School in 1995. While in high school, Nikki worked at Sax's Café in Donnelly, where she worked for the next 10 years. Following graduation, Nikki went on to attend Anoka Ramsey Community College and Alexandria Vocational Technical College. She also did online schooling, receiving a degree as a Para Legal. Following her schooling, she returned to Donnelly and worked at West Wind Village for a couple years. She then moved to St. Joseph, where she lived with her best friend, Lindsey and worked at the Country Manor Nursing Home in Sartell. Nikki later moved to Avon and while living there, she met her husband Jeremyah Wittern. The couple was married on September 8, 2007 at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church. To this union on January 6, 2010, Nikki gave birth to their daughter, Jada Leigh Wittern. Nikki was working at West Wind Village in Morris, until she became too ill to work.
Nikki died on Monday, November 12, 2012 at University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis. She lived to reach the age of 35 years.
She is survived by her husband: Jeremyah Wittern of Donnelly; 2 ½ year old daughter: Jada Leigh Wittern of Donnelly; her mother: Becky Bergstrom of Donnelly; three sisters: Jessica Bergstrom of Donnelly; Andrea (Joha) Torma of Morris and Samantha Bergstrom (Joe Hanson) of Eagan; one niece: Scarlet Bergstrom-McKee of Donnelly; nephew: Mason Torma of Morris; grandmother: Irene Strand of Morris; mother-in-law: Pamela Tessmer of Morrisville, NC; father-in-law: Jack (Kay) Wittern of Annandale; aunts & uncles: Bonnie Haynes (Craig Moses) of Donnelly, Burdell Strand of Donnelly, Beth (Conrad) Jackson of St. Paul Park, Debbie Bergstrom of Alexandria and Richard Bergstrom of Seattle, WA; cousins: Angela Lachowitzier of Manvel, ND, Mindy Eystad of Donnelly and Christy Haynes of Donnelly. She was preceded in death by her father: Charles Bergstrom; grandparents: Burton Strand, Robert and Jeanne Bergstrom; niece: Briar Rose Bergstrom-McKee and uncle: David Haynes.
