Noah Elias Nohl, son of Jacob and Anna (Zobrist) Nohl, was born August 6, 1918 in Darnen Township near Morris, Minnesota. Noah grew up in the Hancock, Minnesota area and attended country school through the eighth grade. After his schooling, Noah began working for area farmers, and he always enjoyed working with, and caring for, the horses that were widely used in those days. When given the opportunity to purchase some of his own land, Noah began farming for himself in the Hancock area. On December 26, 1946, he was united in marriage to Shirley Kellenberger. The couple lived and farmed in the Hancock area. In 1950, Noah & Shirley became members of the Apostolic Christian Church, where Noah also enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years. He had also served as a country school board member, a Hancock Township board member and a Cargill Seed salesman for many years. He especially enjoyed hosting plot day events and putting on pancake and sausage feeds. Noah even earned the title of Champion at one point for his ability to quickly pick corn by hand. Noah & Shirley retired from farming in 1983 and moved to their home in Morris. They have continued to live there since that time, but always enjoyed the opportunity to travel and see the world. Most of their traveling was to the southern states for the winter months, but they also took a couple trips to Europe, as well as various cruises.
Some of the other things Noah enjoyed were hunting, fishing, breaking horses and going to visit people, especially shut-ins. He was also well known for delivering fresh rolls, soups and various other goodies. He will truly be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
