Norma Finnegan

July 12, 1909 — January 11, 2006

Norma Aletha Hanson, daughter of Olaf and Marie (Ekern) Hanson, was born July 12, 1909 in Brandt, South Dakota, where she grew up and received her schooling. She was confirmed on May 4, 1924 in Brandt. On February 19, 1935 she was united in marriage to Joseph Finnegan in Revillo, South Dakota. Following their marriage the couple farmed in Grant County, South Dakota, near Revillo until 1946, when they moved to California. They lived in California for one year, before moving to Marietta, Minnesota. In 1993, Joseph and Norma moved to Morris, where they lived at the Grandview Apartments. Joe died on August 16, 1999. Norma continued to live at the Grandview Apartments until August, 2004, when she moved to West Wind Village, where she has continued to live until the time of her death.

Norma was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Morris and a longtime member of St. James Catholic Church in Nassau, Minnesota. She enjoyed doing cross-stitching, ceramics and playing bridge. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Norma died on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at the West Wind Village in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 96 years.

She is survived by two children: Larry (Nancy) Finnegan of Apple Valley and Joan (Russel) Wolff of Morris; six grandchildren: Bob (Jennifer) Wolff of Chaska, Dave (Jessie) Wolff of Chokio, Mary (Tom) Zosel of Morris, Kimberly (Brian) Gallmeier of Apple Valley, Kelly (Jack) Krallman of Savage and Kristy (Craig) Shromoff of Lakeville. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: William, Clarence, Oswald and Nordt Hanson and one sister: Anna Steen.

Pallbearers for the service are: Bob Wolff, Dave Wolff, Tom Zosel, Craig Shromoff, Jack Krallman and Brian Gallmeier. Dorothy Vick will serve as pianist and song leader for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
