Funeral services for Norman Davids of Starbuck, Minnesota will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck. Reverend Paul Johnson will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fron Cemetery near Starbuck.
Norman Alvin Davids, son of William Sr. and Lovina (Dickmann) Davids was born on August 27, 1945 in Stevens County, Minnesota on a family farm near Clinton. At an early age the family moved to a farm west of Starbuck where he grew up and attended school. Following his schooling, he began farming and driving semi truck. He worked for various companies for 50 years. He was united in marriage to Merlita Sinfuego on July 22, 2004 in the Phillippines. The couple made their home in Starbuck where he continued to work until the time of his death.
Norm enjoyed fishing, riding horses, motorcycles, gardening and working on motors. He especially liked going out to coffee and visiting with friends and family including his special nephew Gabe.
Norman died on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. He lived to reach the age of 69 years.
He is survived by his wife Merlita Davids of Starbuck; daughter: Crystal Swenson of Maplewood; sister: Laura (Jim) Leas of Cottage Grove; sister-in-law: Sylvia Davids of Alexandra; Nieces: Keesha Nygaard of West Union, Tifany Nygaard of Cottage Grove and Deb (Tom) Vanalphen of Brandon; nephew: Jim Davids of Port Richie, FL and several great-nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Karen Davids brother: William Davids Jr.; and niece: Michelle Davids.
