Funeral services for Patricia Sloneker of Cyrus will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus, with Minister Minette Stalheim Johnson officiating. Visitation will be at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Scandia East Cemetery in rural Cyrus.
Patricia Dorothy Bush, daughter of Harold and Florence (Goulet) Bush, was born February 12, 1927 in Hancock, Minnesota, where she was later raised by her grandmother. While attending school in Hancock, Pat was employed by Murphy's Restaurant. She graduated from Hancock High School. On April 30, 1947, Pat was united in marriage to Leon Sloneker in Morris, Minnesota. The couple made their home near Cyrus where they farmed. In 1964, the couple moved into Cyrus and Pat worked at Olson's Red Owl for a number of years.
Pat was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was active in the ladies circle and bible studies. She was also involved with the Framnes Township Jolly Workers. She had many hobbies such as quilting, sewing, baking, gardening, cooking, road trip travels, and enjoying time with her family.
Pat died on Friday, February 28, 2014 at the CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Monticello. She was 87 years old.
She is survived by her husband: Leon Sloneker, Cyrus; five children: Annette (Clayton) Erlandson, Monticello, Bill (Lea) Sloneker, Big Lake, Lee (Judy) Sloneker, Monticello, Perry Sloneker, Monticello, and Kara Sloneker, Monticello; Cyrus daughter: Julie Rutter; two sisters: Beatrice Schmidt, Benson and Betty Lou Lageson, Benson; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister: Haroldine Walker; infant brother; and grandmother: Delma "Nana" Goulet.
