Patty Lou Stahn, daughter of Frank and Minnie (Blasing) Wilts was born on October 19, 1938, above the Hat Shop in Herman, Minnesota.  She was baptized and confirmed at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman.  Pat grew up in Herman where she graduated from high school.  Following high school, she attended the Wahpeton State School of Science for bookkeeping.  She was employed by the City of Ortonville in the City Office.

Pat met Art Stahn, the love of her life, roller skating in Herman in 1955.  They were married on September 14, 1957 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman.  From this union, they had five sons and one daughter.   They made their first home west of Donnelly before moving south of Chokio where they farmed and raised their six children.  In 1987, they moved to Chokio where they currently reside.  Pat worked as a nurse’s aide at the Villa in Morris, was very active assisting with the farming operations and hauling grain during harvest, and also teamed up with Art in their over the road trucking business for two years.  These jobs all paled in comparison to her full time job of being a homemaker and mother.

Pat was a member of and was very active at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Chokio.  She enjoyed playing bridge, bowling and golfing.  One of her favorite pastimes was watching sports on TV and doing crossword puzzles.  Pat was an avid reader, she loved to bake and cook and was famous for her donuts, pickles, and biscuits and gravy.  Pat crocheted many afghans that are cherished by all who received them.

Pat died on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the St. Could Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. She was 80 years old.

Pat is survived by her husband: Art Stahn of Chokio; four sons: Jeff Stahn of San Antonio, TX, Steve (Mary Beth) Stahn of Waconia, Mike (Mary) Stahn of Morris and Mark (Sue) Stahn of Brandt, SD; one daughter: Bonnie (John) Hunter of East Gull Lake; 12 grandchildren: Keith, Amber, Tyler, KK, Jacob, Nathan, Rachel, Emily, Jeremy, Jason, Melissa, and Jordan and 19 (and two on the way) great-grandchildren; brother-in-law: Phil Schansberg of Delano; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and all that called her friend.  Pat is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ed Stahn; sisters: Dencil Krattenmaker and Carlys Schansberg; brothers-in-law: Kenny Krattenmaker and Danny Stahn and Dennis Stahn; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, KK and Aggie Stahn.
