Paul Fehr Sr., son of Alfred and Mary (Gerber) Fehr, was born December 17, 1913 in West Bend, Iowa, where he grew up and attended school. At the age of 19, Paul was baptized in West Bend. On December 27, 1936, he was united in marriage to Anna Luthi in Morris, Minnesota. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in West Bend for two years, where they farmed, until they moved to Stevens County. They continued to farm until 1973, when they retired. They moved to Morris following their retirement. Anna died on November 24, 2005. Paul has remained in Morris until the time of his death.
Paul was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, where he was in the ministry for 40 plus years. He enjoyed wood working, fishing, spending winters in Zapata, Texas and summers at the lake cabin. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, church family and friends.
Paul died on Friday, February 22, 2008 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 94 years.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law: Judi Fehr of Ft. Worth, TX; seven children: Lloyd (Diane) Fehr of Morris, Ruby (Dennis) Schmidgall of Morris, Nancy (Jack) Knobloch of Galva, IL, Wilda (Harvey) Koehl of Morris, Velma (Gary) Domnick of Morris, Diane (Mike) Schmidgall of Morris and Cork (Pam) Fehr of Morris; 28 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister: Hulda (Fehr) Wirtz of West Bend, IA and one brother: Elmer Fehr of West Bend, IA. He was preceded in death by his wife; one son: Leroy Fehr; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his parents and three brothers: Henry, Eli and Daniel Fehr.
Pallbearers for the service are: Chip Fehr, Gary Fehr, Loren Schmidgall, Trevor Schmidgall, Mike Domnick and Kevin Koehl. The Apostolic Christian Church Choir will provide special music for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
