Perry Anderson

June 15, 1927 — January 9, 2009

Perry John Anderson was born June 15, 1927, son of Edwin August Anderson and Madge Irene Clark of rural Donnelly, Minnesota. In 1951, he married Muriel Ardell Polzen from Winfred, SD. Perry and Muriel farmed near Donnelly where they raised four children. After retiring in 1985, he sold hearing aids until 1993 when Muriel and he began wintering in Yuma, AZ. Muriel died on February 3, 2002. On December 28, 2002 he married LaVonne Arlene Nighbert of Yuma, AZ. Perry and LaVonne traveled year round spending summers in Minnesota with family and friends and wintering in Yuma with many snowbird friends.

Perry enjoyed traveling, tinkering around in the shop and garage, having coffee with friends, Thursday night meetings, and watching the news. He served many years on the FSA board and sponsored countless individuals on their road to recovery.

Perry was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church for many years. In later years, he attended Valley Baptist Church in Yuma. He followed the Lord in believer's Baptism and gave his testimony of faith on April 20, 2003. Perry died on January 9, 2009 at the Life Care Center in Yuma, Arizona at the age of 81 years.

He is survived by his wife LaVonne, four children: Perry (Julie) Anderson Jr. of Amery, WI; Pearl (Tom) Horning of Chokio; Dawn Moser of Baltic, SD; and Paula (David) Essendrup of Atwater. He was also survived by ten grandchildren and brother Derald Anderson of Dayton. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Muriel; his parents; two brothers Hilfred and Elwin Anderson; and one son-in-law, Scott Moser.
