Rebecca Jane Lagred, daughter of Donald and Kathleen (Kolstad) Lagred was born on November 7, 1975 in Benson, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in Benson, graduating from Benson High School in 1994. Becky furthered her education attending Ridgewater College in Willmar, receiving her degree in cosmetology. Becky was united in marriage to Douglas Krei on September 21, 1996 at the Scandi Lutheran Church near Benson. The couple made their home in Starbuck, where Becky worked at New Image Salon in Glenwood for 13 years. She most recently worked at Creative Images in Starbuck, until her illness no longer allowed her to work.
Becky loved her family and friends. She enjoyed living life to the fullest. Becky was always on the go; camping, trail rides, going to the beach, scrapbooking, crafts, tubing or sitting by a bonfire. She always kept busy living.
She will be remembered for her smile, laugh, her big heart, a clean house, making plans and being organized. However, Becky will most be remembered for the love of her children. She was always proud of Lane and Ashley.
When you have cancer, you can choose to give up or live. Becky chose to live and she lived until her last breath, at her home, surrounded by family, on April 5, 2016. She was 40 years old.
Becky is survived by husband, Doug Krei and their two children Lane and Ashley, Starbuck, MN; her mother, Kathleen Lagred, Benson, MN; three brothers, Gary Carson and Tim Carson, Swift Falls, MN and Andy Lagred, Revillo, SD; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Lagred.
