Reuben Pasche

Reuben Martin Albert Pasche, son of Reverend Friedrich and Martha (Wiedenheft) Pasche, was born September 14, 1912 in Horton Township in Stevens County, Minnesota. He was baptized on October 6, 1912 in Horton Township and confirmed on April 10, 1927 in Atwater, Minnesota by his father, Rev. F. E. Pasche. Reuben grew up in Eden Valley, Minnesota, where he graduated from Eden Valley High School. On August 30, 1939, he was united in marriage to Esther Melchert at the Zion Lutheran Church in Horton Township. The couple made their home in Horton Township, where they farmed for nine years. They moved to a farm near Donnelly, MN, where they continued to farm and raise their children. Reuben also worked at the Donnelly Coop for ten years in the Furnace Repair and Sales. Following Reuben's retirement, he and Esther moved to Morris in October of 1987, where they have continued to make their home.

Reuben was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Morris, where he served as an Elder, taught Sunday school and was a member of the men's club. He also served on the Donnelly Coop Creamery Board and was a member of the Donnelly Rod and Gun Club and the Donnelly Horseshoe Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing guitar. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with family and friends.

Reuben died on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the West Wind Village in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 93 years.

He is survived by his wife: Esther Pasche of Morris; children: Dean (Mary) Pasche of Ashland, OR, Marlis Harstad of Alexandria, Joyce (Gary) Raymond of Bloomington, Verlan (Barb) Pasche of Coon Rapids, Stanley (Marge) Pasche of Alexandria and Donna (Joel) Swanson of Detroit Lakes; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and two brothers, Art (Arlene) Pasche and Martin (Fern) Pasche both of Hoffman. He was preceded in death by his parents; one great grandchild: Christopher Woolridge; six brothers and three sisters.

Pallbearers for the service are: Dean Pasche, Marlis Harstad, Joyce Raymond, Verlan Pasche, Stanley Pasche and Donna Swanson. Becky Seidl will be serving as organist for the service, with granddaughters: Wendy Herman and Amy Sites serving as soloists.
