Richard Beveridge

A memorial service for Richard David Beveridge II will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck, Minnesota, with a visitation one hour prior to services on Saturday.

Richard David Beveridge II, son of Richard Sr. and Rosella (Sorenson) Beveridge was born in Norfolk, Virginia on October 21, 1943. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Richard was born into a military family and spent his younger years with his parents at different locations across the United States. In 1961, he graduated from Coronado High School on the beautiful west coast island of Coronado. Richard and Donna (Bonk) Nelson were married in 1967, and had two children, Rickey and Nicole. The couple would later divorce, yet remained active in both Rickey and Nicole’s lives.

In the spring of 1968, Richard earned his Temporary Airman Certificate from the Department of Transportation – Federal Aviation Administration. Often times he would take Rickey, Nicole, and his father Richard I on airplane rides just for fun. Richard’s favorite pastimes were deer hunting, fishing, piloting his airplane just for fun and spending time with his family. He was also a member of the Army National guard, the Starbuck V.F.W. and AmVets.

Richard passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Prairie Ridge Health Care in Elbow Lake, Minnesota. He was 80 years old.

Richard is survived by his children: Rickey Beveridge III of Starbuck, and Nicole Beveridge of Two Harbors; mother of Rickey and Nicole: Donna Nelson of Starbuck; and sister: Becky (Royce) Braaten of rural Starbuck. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister: Patricia Suousie; and nephew: Scott Guthrie.
