Robert Elgin

Robert Lavern Elgin, son of Lloyd and Margaret (Sibley) Elgin, was born May 26, 1939 in Dixon, Illinois. On March 18, 1959, Bob enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for six years. He received an honorable discharge on February 28, 1965. Bob lived in Morris for 30 years, before moving to Fergus Falls, Minnesota in 2005. Bob enjoyed Fishing, hunting and playing bingo.





Bob died on April 24, 2007 at the Fergus Falls Hospital in Fergus Falls, MN, having lived to reach the age of 67 years.





He is survived by three children: Daniel Elgin (Angie Malenke) of Cambridge, Darren (Jacky) Elgin of Princeton and Derek (Tanya) Elgin of Stromsberg, NE; five grandchildren: Oriana and Adrien Elgin, Emma and Erika Elgin and Joseph (Tonya) Kohanek; one great-grandchild: Clara June Kohanek; former spouse: Joyce Elgin of Morris; seven brothers and sisters: Darlene Olen (Victor Youle) of Morris, Lenard (Arlene) Elgin of Eagle Bend, Betty (Ben) McCoy of Stanchfield, Clarence (Cathy) Elgin of St. Louis Park, Johnny (Teri) Elgin of East Bethel, Donald (Beth) Elgin of Mora and Thomas Elgin (Sandra Bloomgren) of Sauk Rapids and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons: Steven and David Elgin and his parents.





Pallbearers for the service are: Lenard Elgin, Clarence Elgin, Johnny Elgin, Donald Elgin, Thomas Elgin and Oscar Brandt. Marilyn Gillespie will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
