Robert Loa Walker, son of Robert and Elma (Clark) Walker, was born January 17, 1923 in Morris, Minnesota, where he grew up and attended school. He graduated from Morris High School in 1940. On October 31, 1943, he was united in marriage to Haroldine Bush at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris by Father John Fearon. Robert was a life long farmer, janitor at the Morris Area High School and later worked for the Stevens County Highway Department in Morris.
Robert was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the Calvary Cemetery Board. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, horseshoes, horses, playing cards and telling jokes. He especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Robert died on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the Lakeview Good Samaritan Center in Glenwood, MN, having lived to reach the age of 85 years.
He is survived by his wife: Haroldine Walker of Morris; one daughter: Delma (George) Kaminsky of Minnetonka; five grandchildren: Robert (Michelle) Drometer, Michael (Sue) Drometer, Christopher (Kimberly) Drometer, Jason (Barb) Drometer and Adam Kaminsky; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers: Lyle Walker of Mapelton and Howard (Edna) Walker of Baldwin, WI and one sister: Hazel Christiansen of Madras, OR. He was preceded in death by two children: Lynette and Joseph and two sisters: Laura McCollar and Ada Marquardt.
Pallbearers for the service are: Robert Drometer, Michael Drometer, Christopher Drometer, Jason Drometer, Adam Kaminsky and George Kaminsky. Josh Fischer will serve as pianist/song leader for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
