Roger Fredericks

A visitation will be held for Roger Fredericks of Starbuck on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 4 to 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion in North St. Paul, Minnesota.

Roger Milton Fredericks, son of Alden and Maude (Snell) Fredericks, was born January 24, 1937 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Roger grew up in St. Paul and attended school at Cleveland Jr. High. He was united in marriage to Joanne Ackerman on September 15, 1956. To this union, four children were born. The couple raised their family in the St. Paul area. Roger worked at Bartusch Meat Packing for 21 years, and later at Pefco for 16 years. The couple moved to Starbuck, Minnesota in 1997 following his retirement.

Roger enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working outside in the yard. The family also took many vacations to a lake resort. Roger especially enjoyed family coming to visit and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Roger passed away Friday, June 14, 2013 at his home surrounded by family. He lived to reach the age of 76 years.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Fredericks of Starbuck; four children, Tim Fredericks of St. Paul, Debra (Robert) Bailey of St. Paul, Beverly Schwandt of Starbuck, and Robert Fredericks of St. Paul; brothers, Vernon Fredericks of St. Croix, WI and Gary (Ellen) Fredericks of Winchell, MN; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Ray; granddaughter, Bobbie Jo; two sisters, Arlene and Lucille; three brothers, John, George, and Dick; brother-in-law, Dick; and niece, Cindy.

Starbuck Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
