Funeral services for Roger "Pat" Swanson of Hancock, MN will be held Friday, March 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at First Congregational Church in Hancock, MN, with Pastor Karen Schmidt-Dill officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Roger Paul Swanson, son of Paul and Evelyn (Perry) Swanson, was born March 22, 1941 in Hancock, Minnesota. He grew up and attended Hancock High School, graduating in 1959. For many years Pat worked for CMI driving truck. He then worked in construction for several years before becoming a farm hand for Kannegiesser Farms, where he worked for many years, until his retirement.

Pat was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Morris Eagles Club. He enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, following the Twins, and trying his luck at the Powerball and scratch-offs. Pat will be remembered for his sense of humor, kind heart, and giving nature.

Pat died on Monday, March 24, 2014 at Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, Minnesota. He lived to the age of 73 years.

He is survived by two sons: Darren Swanson and Corey Swanson; three grandchildren: Kendra Swanson, Zach Swanson, and Connor Swanson; one brother: Rod Swanson and Pat's significant other: Sally Utech. He was preceded in death by his parents; three children: Jodine Swanson, Darla Swanson and Darwin Swanson and three brothers: Dick Swanson, Pete Swanson and Mike Swanson.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
