Ronald Anderson

Ronald Gary Anderson, son of Elmer and June (Mickelson) Anderson, was born on December 18, 1938, in Morris, Minnesota. He was raised in Morris, where he graduated from high school with the class of 1958. After graduating he obtained a position in shipping at Scott Atwater in Minneapolis. In 1959 he returned to Morris to work for his father at Elmer's Distributing Company. On June 20, 1959, Ron was united in marriage to Yvonne Dahl at Bethany Lutheran Free Church in Morris. To this union four sons were born. Ron continued to work for his father until February 23, 1974, when he was injured in an automobile accident. He returned to work at Elmer's Distributing Company in 1975. In 1976 Ron purchased the company from his father and was president until his retirement in 1997. Ron lived in Morris all of his life until moving with Yvonne last December to a home on lake Reno near Glenwood. While living here he enjoyed watching all of the wildlife and the beautiful sunsets from his deck.
Ron was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Morris. Over the years he was a member of the Morris Fire Department, Eagles Aerie 620, Morris Jaycees, Morris 9-F Sportsman Club, the Red Rider Saddle Club and the MN Beer Wholesalers Assn. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, water-skiing, horses, cars of the 1950's, spending winters in Arizona and spending time at the cabin with his family.
Ron died on Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at the St. Cloud Hospital, having lived to reach the age of 66 years.
He is survived by his wife: Yvonne of Glenwood; four sons: Jeff (Sandy) Anderson of Cyrus, Chuck Anderson of Morris, Todd Anderson of Morris and Darren (Angie) Anderson of Glenwood; four grandchildren: Staci and Shannon Anderson of Cyrus and Weston and Hayden Anderson of Morris; mother June Anderson of Morris; two sisters: Dorothy (Dale) Thompson of Branson, MO, and Joan Harren of Owatonna, MN. He was preceded in death by his father.
Pallbearers for the service are: David Greseth, Marvin Masching, Bob Rath, Kenny Olson, Dick VanMoorlehem, Bill Splitstoser, Lowell Ness and Kevin Kolden. Honorary pallbearers are all of Ron's fellow members of the 1974 Morris Fire Department. Deb Mahoney will serve as organist for the service with Lois Krump serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
A special thank you to all of the home care nurses and aides from SCMC, Dr. John Stock and staff who cared for Ron throughout the years. Also, thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Cloud Hospital and to the Glacial Ridge Home Care for their care and concern.
