Funeral Services for Ronald D. Woolridge, of Morris, Minnesota will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris, with Father Robert Kieffer officiating. Visitation will be on Monday at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Morris.
Ronald DeWayne Woolridge, son of LeRoy and Julia Woolridge (LeSage) was born on October 10, 1933 in Clinton Minnesota. He attended elementary schools in Hancock, Cyrus and Morris. He graduated from the Morris High School in 1952.
In 1953 Ronald enlisted in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. His stations of duties were in Texas, Florida, Philippines and Okinawa.
On August 7, 1957 Ronald was united in marriage to Lorraine F. Sauter. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Wahpeton, ND where Ronald attended the North Dakota State School of Science. In July of 1958 he re-enlisted in the Air Force. He was assigned to bases in Texas, Germany, New Mexico, Nevada and Ohio. During these years six children were born to this union.
Ronald retired from the Air Force on July 1, 1974, after 21 years of military service. He returned to his hometown of Morris and opened Ron's Electric Motor Repair Shop. Later he leased dairy cattle to farmers and owned and managed rental properties.
Ronald's hobbies were restoring old cars and small tractors, buying and selling antiques, hunting, fishing, traveling, working in his shop and spending time with his family.
He was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church, Eagles, American Legion, VFW,
and the Disabled American Veterans.
Ronald died on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at HCMC, with his family at his side. He lived to reach the age of 78 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Woolridge of Morris, MN; sons, Richard (Pat) Woolridge of Huron, SD, Gregory (friend Jeanie) Woolridge of Blackhawk, SD, Stephen Woolridge of Seattle, WA, Douglas Woolridge of Saint Cloud, MN; daughter, Gail (Kevin) Kolden of Hutchinson, MN; brother, Kenneth Woolridge of Norwood, MN; sister, Corrine Flaten of Morris, MN; grandchildren, Chad, Kurt, and Kyle (Kallie) Kolden, Nicole (Gerald) Ott, Natalie and Jeff Woolridge, Jeremy and Jennifer Buckland, CullanWoolridge, Bethany (Eric) Habisch, Katey Woolridge; great-granchildren, Kiyla and Kallan Kolden, Rylan Ruziska, Carter Woolridge, and Rhyan Eckerman; 7 sister-in-laws; 1 brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Mary JoAnn; parents; and 1 brother; Wallace.
