Funeral services for Rose Davidson of Morris, MN will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Father Todd Schneider will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Morris.
Rose Katherine Birchem, daughter of John and Rose (Kaiser) Birchem, was born March 31, 1923 in McClusky, North Dakota. Her family moved to Rosholt, South Dakota, where Rose attended country school and was confirmed. She graduated from Rosholt High School in 1941. On March 13, 1943, she was united in marriage to Wesley Davidson at Assumption Parish House in Morris. The couple made their home in Beardsley, MN, where Wes was working with his brothers at the Cream Station. The couple moved back to Morris, where Rose began working as a waitress before she started at Varnums Hardware for 13 years. In 1970, the couple bought Montgomery Ward Agency in Morris, which they owned and operated for 15 years. The couple retired from the agency in 1985. Rose began working for Holiday and Coborn's in 1996 and after 10 years officially retired in 2006. She moved into West Wind Village in December, 2009 and continued to live there until the time of her death.
Rose was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Morris, where she taught bible study, was a part of the mission group, and was a Christian Mother. She enjoyed quilting, golfing, fishing, and gardening. She had a passion for everything she did, and loved creating bonds with as many people as she could.
Rose died on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at West Wind Village in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 92 years.
She is survived by her daughter: Pat Sailor of Worthington; two grandchildren: Deb (Mike) Legrid and Parrish Skrien; seven great-grandchildren: Heather (Noah), Anastacia (Jordan), Katelyn, Emily, Brooke, Zach and Nathan and one great-great-granddaughter: Adalyn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley; her parents; three brothers: Victor, Harry and Johnny Birchem and two sisters: Mary Kohler and Cecelia Scrivano.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Courage Cottage in Morris. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
