Ruby Meka

Ruby Elmira Meka, daughter of James and Ida Mae (Musgrove) Foster, was born January 29, 1926 in Minneapolis , Minnesota . She was one of 15 children. She married Michael Meka on January 15, 1955. For most of her life, Ruby was a homemaker.

Ruby lived in Minneapolis with her husband until his death in October of 1998. Soon after, Ruby moved to Morris, where she lived at Grandview Apartments. Ruby enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and will be best remembered for her Christmas decorations.

Ruby died on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at West Wind Village in Morris , MN , having lived to reach the age of 84 years.

She is survived by one daughter: Linda (Michael) Kahleck of Raleigh, NC; two sons: Michael Meka (Sheila Ziesmer) of Morris and Terry Meka (Robin Olsen) of Minneapolis ; five grandchildren: Michael Joseph Meka, Blake Olson, Jennifer Meka, Philip Olson and Toni Peterson; two great-grandsons and numerous nephews and nieces. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband: Michael Meka; her infant daughter: Cynthia; her parents: Ida and James and her 14 brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers for the service are all who called Ruby Friend. Rita Lambert will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
