The funeral for Ruby Olson of Morris, Minnesota will be held Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris with Reverend Dell Sanderson officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Erdahl Cemetery in Erdahl, MN.
Ruby Angeline Skramstad, daughter of Arthur and Ragna (Lindberg) Skramstad, was born August 18, 1921 in Holmes City Township in Douglas County Minnesota. She was baptized on September 18, 1921 in Holmes City, and was confirmed by Reverend Holmes on June 19, 1938 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kensington, Minnesota. Ruby grew up on the family farm outside of Kensington and Holmes City, where she attended school. On December 22, 1943, Ruby was united in marriage to Virgil Olson in Farwell, MN. The couple made their home in Erdahl, MN where they farmed. After Virgil's retirement in 1971, the couple moved to Morris where Ruby worked as a housekeeper at the Villa of St. Francis until her retirement in 1986.
Ruby died on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris. She was 93 years old.
She is survived by one son, Larry Olson, Hamilton, GA; one daughter, Beverly Johnson, Morris; one grandchild, Dara Kieley, Hawaii; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Betty Keller, Carlos, MN. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers, Gordon and Grant Skramstad.
